Notice is hereby given that the 30-day open enrollment period for inclusion into the Chemung County’s Agricultural District will be from November 1-Noveber 30, 2026. Inclusion into the district protects farm operations from unreasonable restrictive local regulation and requires additional review for the condemnation or eminent domain acquisition of district parcels. Removal from the district is only permitted during the 8-year review period pursuant to Section 303-A. Review of applications for inclusionor removal are conducted by the Chemung County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board to assess a parcel’s potential to support future viable farm operations.
